Manchester Airport is the fourth busiest airport in the United Kingdom, sale handling over 21 million passengers a year to over 200 destinations worldwide.

Like London, Manchester has its own orbital motorway, the M60, with an inner ring-road too. The M56 towards the airport, Chester and the M6 to Birmingham; the M61 to Bolton and Preston; the M62 to Liverpool and Leeds; the M66 to Bury; and the M67.

On top of a large bus service, Manchester has high-frequency tram system called Metrolink which connects the city centre to Eccles, Bury and Altrincham. There are several major railway stations linking Manchester to surrounding boroughs and other major British cities, including a high-speed link to London from Manchester Piccadilly run by Virgin Trains.
